If you have visited Moscow or St. Petersburg, Russia you may have noticed how clean the streets seem compared to most European and American cities.
There are several reasons for this. First, the government hires a large number of workers who walk the streets in the mornings cleaning, sweeping and picking up trash. But it doesn’t stop there.
City crews also fight dust with regular water spraying trucks. Powerful jets wash across the pavement settling dust and pushing it to the gutters.
And to top it off, regular street sweeping vehicles circulate picking up larger litter and dirt.
