Arts Festival "Traditions and Modernity" opens in Moscow
About 200 painters, sculptors, photographers, graphic artists, craftsmen and gallery owners from Russia and foreign countries will present their work at the V Moscow International Art Festival "Traditions and Modernity," which opens March 5 in the Arena, According to a press release from festival organizers.

The aim of the festival - this is primarily to support young talented artists, development and support of art projects, and, of course, the preservation of cultural heritage. Along with the works of famous masters, in the Arena will be on display and the work of young artists, "- said in a statement.

In addition, the fifth anniversary of the festival, which will be held under the auspices of UNESCO, will be organized a special art projects.
"One of the most interesting is the project of Belgian artist Edmond Dyubranfo (1920-2007 years) - muralist with a worldwide reputation who has devoted a huge part of my life the revival of tapestry art in Belgium," - said in a press release.

Representatives of the federal districts of Russia and some CIS countries will present the project "Great Russia". Visitors can also see an arena project "Reflections" Misha Lenna - the world-renowned artist who created his own style in watercolor.

Traditional festival will be the project "Unique dolls as works of art," in which the exhibition of the best dolls from the collections of galleries, private collections, as well as leading Russian artists.

According to the organizers, this year the geography of the art forum will expand - its second phase will take place in autumn in New Orleans, where artists exhibit their work in South Federal District, and representatives from sister cities of Volgograd.
Also in Volgograd held a ceremony awarding the winners of the festival, including awarding the main prize - a bronze statuette "Faith".
The winners will be determined by an international jury, headed by Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts Tair Salakhov in 28 categories in the directions "Painting", "Graphics", "Sculpture," Photograph, "" Arts and Crafts, "" Architecture "and" Museology " .

The organizer of the festival is the Moscow Public Fund for Support of Culture and the development of modern art. RIA Novosti is official media partner of the festival.
