Where and how to celebrate the Moscow City's Birthday

The emphasis in the celebration of Day of Moscow will be placed not on the central event, but the districts.

Moscow has always been famous for its brightness and extent of celebrating it's birthday. But this year there have been some changes in terms of events and venue

Decision of the Government of Moscow, signed by Mayor Yuri Luzhkov, was repealed a number of central festive events dedicated to the city. Consequently, on September 4 will be a theatrical grand opening of the City Day - 2010, traditionally for many years held on Tverskaya Square, as well as a celebratory reception on behalf of the Mayor, the Government of Moscow and the Moscow State Duma, to celebrate the City Day - 2010.  A spokesman for the mayor and the Government of Moscow, Sergei Tsoi explained that the decision of the authorities in Moscow had been taken in connection with the urgent need to channel additional resources to address social issues and health Muscovites.  Thus, the emphasis in the celebration of Day of Moscow, which will be in the 4th and 5th of September, will be placed not on the central event, and on the circle.
So, here is a list of some activities.

[b]September 3, Friday[/b]
  In the Moscow Circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard starts 9th Moscow International Festival of Circus Arts.

Here you will see everything new that is in the domestic and foreign circus arts.

The festival will be held until September 6.

On 3rd and 6 th September from 12:00 to 7:00pm in the OCE Committee of Interregional Relations and National Policy of Moscow will be a festival of international culture "Round Dance of friendship".

Presentations of the capital's national-cultural autonomy will focus on the friendship between the people and entire nations. Also on stage will appear popular dance and music groups with a concert devoted to Day of the city.

[b]September 4, Saturday[/b]
From 10:00 to 3:00pm on the square near the main entrance of the OCE will be an exhibition of retro-technology and modern rolling stock ground of urban passenger transport. The exhibition will feature about 56 pieces of equipment, including VMS-8 "Ferdinand", the bus from the movie "The venue can not be changed. In general, for two days at different venues OCE visitors can visit a holiday concert on TV "Capital", a concert of art song "Colorful Moscow, the national sports festival" SPORT CITY in the OCE, a mini-concert "Hearts of young Muscovites are open to All (Children's Art Festival).
For children and youth at the exhibition center will be opened gaming, creative and athletic fields.

On the territory of the Olympic complex "Luzhniki" the whole day will be international athletics competitions "Russian Challenge - 2010".

  At 12:00 on Tverskaya Square on Saturday held a solemn opening ceremony of the Day theatrical city with the participation of the winners of the city competition of professional skill "Moscow masters" of 2010.

  And in the same time at a memorial at Poklonnaya Hill  will be the V th Moscow Festival of Classical and jazz music "worship".

Also on this day at Poklonnaya Hill is scheduled holiday program "Music callsigns favorite city!" Concert program "Happy birthday, my city!», III Interregional Exhibition - contest of folk artists "Rus craftsmen, and Multiregional folklore festival" Moscow dance". Two recent events will be held until 5 September.

At 1:00pm at Theater Square and Theatre Way held sporting event of the City Day, XVIII International competitions waiters for a brisk walk with a tray and XIV International festival of champions "Guinness Book" and the book "Records of the Planet."

Later, at 2:00pm in Theatre Square will be held festive program "Moscow, you were always young!" Involving several thousands of young artists.

Lubyanka Square from 2:00pm to 10:00pm is planned for the entire family "favorite holiday Muscovites", where at 8:00pm on stage by renowned French artist Laurent Garnier.

A parallel, at the Boulevard Ring will be a youth art festival "Boulevard of Arts", a project that brings together all the arts in our city.

At 4:00pm on Tverskaya street in Moscow will start the procession of students.

Finish the route Moscow student center plans at 7:00pm in TsPKO, Gorky park.

An hour later, from the beginning of the parade of students, at 17:00, on Tverskaya Square will begin a festive program of "Happy Birthday, Moscow!".  The concert will last until 10:00pm.

  During the celebration the next day in the city of Moscow can be seen only one firework, which will be held at 10:00pm on Vasilevsky descent.

  From 4 th to 9 th September at the Red Square will be held on the International Military Music Festival, Spassky Tower, where the unit will be presented guard of honor of Heads of State and leading the military orchestra and creative teams from Russia and foreign countries.

[b]September 5, Sunday[/b]
September 4 - 5 in ESHVSM Moskvich and UCSC "Iskra" will take place the traditional urban sports festival "Sports Capital 2010" and submit a final Games of the workers of Moscow.

  September 5 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm on the square at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour will be a concert of classical and sacred music "Moscow bells". At OCE around the fountain "Friendship of Peoples" the V International festival of crafts (from 10:00am to 8:00pm).
[b]September 5 th and 6 th[/b] here in the area of industry, will take time for children radio (from 12:00 to 4:00pm) with an entertainment program "The Wild Child radio". A Day of Moscow will complete the festive concert at the Moscow wave , which will be held on Sunday at Poklonnaya Hill and will last from 2:00pm until 10:00pm.
