In Kaliningrad, found a piece of the Amber Room? It is still a question.

The unique discovery in Kaliningrad. In the dungeons of the old bastions of the panel found a piece of amber, which belonged to, perhaps, the famous Amber Room.
Detail of framing pictures found under a pile of bricks. At first glance it looks like pressed amber. Filigree carvings - a direct indication of the value of the old Konigsberg.
"So far, no concrete answer, that this was where was this picture. For us, this is a very interesting find. Here in 1945 were military men, who found some fragments of amber", - says Alexander Tsarenko, head of a branch of the Kaliningrad Regional History and Art Museum Fort № 5.
But the main finding - dull-looking metal plate. The same attached to the boxes, which kept the amber from the museum of the royal castle. The laconic inscription leaves no doubt about the translation from German - "amber values." They are in charge of the famous Dr. Alfred Rohde, he was also the chief curator of the Amber Room. Most likely, the plaque was lost when moving boxes of valuable cargo into the underground fort.
"This is indirect evidence that the fort might have been, and perhaps now are cultural values. Along with the sign that piece of the frame next indirect indication that the fort is an object of the search of cultural values. I know that in the process of clearing the dungeon, which are now intensively, we will find other indirect evidence, "- said Abner Ovsyanov, chief expert of Research and Production Center for the Protection of Monuments of the Kaliningrad region.
To determine the composition of the fragments found, on-site museum workers carried out a basic examination with a lighter. I smell another amber resin.
But the museum workers are going on the bigger picture and later a real review. Especially for a further search they have good reason. After the Great Patriotic War, the fort housed our unit. The documentary is well known that the soldiers found here entire boxes of amber.
