In Vancouver, Canada the Winter Olympics closing ceremony held a ritual transfer of the Olympic flag of the city following the winter Games - Russia's Sochi. As part of the closing ceremony of Russia held a presentation of the Olympics in 2014.

International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge took the Olympic flag from the mayor of Vancouver's Gregor Robertson and handed it to the mayor of Sochi Anatolia Pakhomov.

During the next eight minutes, the guests of the stadium and billions of TV viewers was presented a business card of the Olympic Games in 2014.  In the bright, colorful presentation, during which combines centuries-old tradition and modernity, was attended by eminent representatives of sport, arts and culture.

Conductor Valery Gergiev of Vancouver demonstrated the possibility of conducting his orchestra, which was at that moment in Red Square in Moscow.  The musicians performed an excerpt from the works of Georgi Sviridov's "Time to go!".  Then the scene came the representatives of the best schools of ballet - dancers of the Mariinsky, Bolshoi and the Novosibirsk Theater.
