"Petersburgers spent the night in museums".
"Night of Museums in St. Petersburg collects huge queues".
Those are the titles of the newspapers on these days.

Campaign "Museum Night" is an international and is held simultaneously in 42 countries in Europe.  It is dedicated to the International Museum Day. Nearly 2 thousand showrooms around the world do not sleep once a year, opening its doors to all who are interested to see the museum in an unusual time of day.

Almost all of St. Petersburg people on the Sunday night of 16 th weren't sleeping. The city on the Neva River for the third time has passed "Museum Night", which united in this, 50 cultural sites.

The program of action differed significantly from last year. Thus, in this year's "Night of Museums" NOT participated Smolny Cathedral, St. Isaac chose to close the colonnade. And St. Isaac's Cathedral in small queues began to accumulate as early as 8-9 pm. In addition, the chief of St. Petersburg museum - the Hermitage - worked in a special regime and their own tickets (all the other night cultural sites you could get on a single ticket costs 250 rubles)..

For the Night of Museums 2010 many new members joined. Among them - Planetarium, which line to go in was reaching the doors of the Leningrad Zoo. As for the zoo, it as in last year, pleased Petersburgers with various interactive programs. Visitors could walk along "the path tracker", and independently explore the nocturnal animals.

Museum-apartment of Anna Akhmatova in this year talked about the life of the famous Russian poet Joseph Brodsky (in those days in St. Petersburg celebrated the 70th anniversary of his birth). Documentaries about Brodsky broadcast overnight in the park of the Fountain House.

All Petersburgers wishing to join the beautiful during the Night of Museums 2010, faced the huge queues.

In Sheremetievskiy palace were gathered a few hundred people, which goes over the wall and stretches along the embankment.

Similar queues and the Museum of Hygiene Centre preventive medicine at the Italian street. In the lobby of the museum is so stifling, that people can't stand it and go out.

Despite the fact that the passage of the colonnade of St. Isaac's on the Night of Museums was closed, many Petersburgers wanted to get in this museum.

It should be noted that at the hours of Museum Night Petersburg is particularly crowded.

People involved in the action Night of Museums are easily recognizable by a special blue cards in hand, on which lovers of the museums paved their path.

Recall that the Night of Museums in St. Petersburg opened at 6 pm on May 15 and ended  at 6 am on May 16. The action involved more than 50 museums and exhibition halls, almost all accumulated queue.

In St. Petersburg to the "Night of Museums" in this year joined some new members, among them: Arctic and Antarctic Museum, Museum of cats, Museum of playing cards. From Hare Island to the Museum of avant-garde was hosted the  costume "rabbits parade" . Well, the main innovation of this year - a single ticket, which operated in all St. Petersburg galleries without exception.

"Night of Museums" was born nine years ago in Paris. Once a year come to life sculptures and exhibits two thousand museums throughout Europe. St. Petersburg participated in this action for the fifth time (some says three years), and this year's festival was attended by 50 exhibition sites of the city, from the Geological Survey Museum to the Museum of cats and Museum of Imperial bikes. Many have worked from six in the evening to six in the morning.

Museum of Hygiene frightening nightmares, for example, Pavlov's dog, liver, alcoholic and light smoker. For illustrative purposes, already a staff member of the museum, at a demonstrated effect of one cigarette.

"Is it clear guys? This is from one cigarette came into light "- shows the guide of the museum.

But most visitors are not even scared of it and the dentist's chair of XVIII century - to drill for treadle and without anesthesia.

Museum of artillery stormed. In the area of the knights in armor, demonstrating martial arts. And the exhibition stand called "The soldiers in camp." The organizers wanted to show the rest warriors of all time - and American, and German, and Russian. Rest turned out at all the same: a campfire, with songs and girls.

In the brightly lighted windows of the palace Sheremetevsky music all night wandering around sculptures come to life - a home theater is preparing for the premiere. Viewer is to complete a full training course, which got here Natalia Goncharova - choreography, acting and singing.

Everything that happens in all the museums of cultural capital - it is a vivid theatrical staging. This was one of the main conditions. No boring, static displays. All the museums on this night prepared a unique program.

Visitors of "Night of Museums " is an opportunity to see that on ordinary days you will never see and for museums is the opportunity to show that  will not show on working days.
