Conducting in 1941, in the most difficult time for the country during the war, the military parade on Red Square was of great military and political importance, had a moral effect of great strength to the morale of troops, contributed to emotional recovery and strengthening of faith in the ultimate victory for the people of the country.

By the force of impact on the course of further developments to equate to the most important military operations of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. In the alarming and devastating for the country's days of the war parade have shown the world the indomitable spirit and will of the people to victory.

Parade on 7th of November 1941 was a great public outcry, despite the snowstorm  the fighters  were raised in the sky, Red Square was in the zone of fire. Since the parade went straight to the front, and people believed that this cruel war can be won.

Until 1991, Nov. 7 was celebrated in the USSR as the country's main holiday - the Day of the Great October Socialist Revolution. Even in school history lessons everyone knows that on the night of 7 to 8 November (New Style), 1917, an uprising in Petrograd, committed by the proletariat of Russia, that shot was standing on Nevsky berth cruiser "Aurora" that the armed workers, soldiers and sailors captured mail, telephone, telegraph and the Winter Palace, that they overthrew the Provisional Government and proclaimed Soviet power, which then existed in our country and seventy-odd years.
All these years on 7th of November was a "red day in the calendar" public holiday celebrated with a military parade and a demonstration of workers in Red Square. With the collapse of the Soviet Union and the excommunication of the Communist Party from power, it all ended. In Russia, the holiday on November 7, at first, was renamed the "Day of (accord)harmony and reconciliation", and then canceled altogether.

At that time, in Belarus that day stayed as a weekend and public holiday, which is now called a little bit shorter than in Soviet time "Day of the October Revolution".
