Transfer in Moscow sheremetyevo airport
« on: June 10, 2009, 08:55:47 AM »
I am going to St Petersburg via Moscow and have 2 hours to change terminals afer arriving at terminal 2 and departing from terminal1 on Aeroflot around 14.15 hrs. Will the time be sufficient. Do foreigners again have to go through immigration at terminal 1 . Any special care to be taken for faster transit please suggest.

Two hours is a bit tight for Moscow transfer. You will have to take your bags through customs/immigration in Moscow Sheremetyevo II, then catch a taxi to Sheremetyevo I to catch your connecting flight. It is a good 10 minute drive.

There will be a line of guys on both sides waiting to escort you to a taxi.  They will all be offering you a price. Usually these are freelance guys and the taxi driver gives them a commission.  You are free just to walk out to the taxi's yourself.
There is a free bus they don't like you to know about, but in your case it will be too slow to get you to the other terminal.

You will have to keep moving to make this connection, don't stop to eat on the way!
