« on: March 25, 2009, 09:00:21 PM »
The results were announced in the competition for the reconstruction and modernization of  the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts  The winner is famous British architect Norman Foster.  In spite of the expensive Norman Foster project, it has from the outset been supported by Pushkin  Museum director Irina Antonova.

She called it "a brilliant and remarkable decision, the twenty-first century architecture. "

It is anticipated that in Moscow at Volkhonka will be created a museum town.
It will include not only the building of the Pushkin Museum, and 12 surrounding the old mansions.  The zone will be walking area, and in the museum complex will also include libraries, concert halls, galleries, as well as the necessary leisure infrastructure.  The Museum Board of Trustees is chaired by President Dmitry Medvedev personally.
