I have a question for you Tatiana.

Me and my fiancee are kind of ballet freaks and have always wanted to visit the Marinsky ballet backstage or see some of the rehearsals. I was supposed to propose to her like this but it seemed impossible. Would you be able to organise a trip there?

Hi Laurentius,

The backstage tours to Mariinsky Theatre are not promoted online, but can be arranged in St. Petersburg.
Tours vary depending on shows and available areas to see.
You may see the props, costume areas,  set-design area above the theater,  rehearsal rooms.
Sometimes you can see classes being held or hear performers warming up.
A 90-minute backstage tour of the Mariinsky costs about $225 USD each person.
See you there!

Wow Sennaya

225 dollars is kind of very expensive but maybe it would be worth it. Not all of us Westerners are rich. I get 580 euros a month from where 225 euros goes to my rent so our financial situation is closer to the Russians I guess. Well maybe in the future if I get more money ;)
